Retired IPS Officer Shobha Ohtakar Appointed BSSC Chairperson

The Bihar government has appointed retired IPS officer Shobha Ohtakar as the new Chairperson of the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC). The appointment was notified by the State’s General Administration Department, which said she will assume charge from the date she takes office and continue in the position until further orders.

Shobha Ohtakar is a 1990 batch retired IPS officer with long administrative experience. Her appointment comes as the State moves to fill the top position at the commission responsible for conducting recruitment to various Government posts.

With Ohtakar’s appointment, senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, who had been holding the additional charge of BSSC Chairperson, has been relieved of the responsibility. The Government notification formally ends his interim tenure at the commission.
