The Income Tax Department has concluded its four-day survey at Ramkripal Construction Private Limited and its associated entities in Ranchi (Jharkhand), Begusarai (Bihar) and Gurugram (Haryana). According to sources, investigators have found preliminary evidence suggesting undisclosed income of nearly Rs. 350 crore. Officials have seized financial documents, computers, mobile phones, hard disks and other digital records, which will now undergo detailed forensic and financial analysis. The department has not issued an official statement on the findings so far.

Survey Examined Financial Records Across Multiple Locations
The survey, launched by the Investigation Wing on 31st July, involved nearly 150 officials who examined project records, banking transactions, cash payments and digital accounting systems. Following the completion of field operations, the seized documents and electronic data have been taken for detailed scrutiny. Based on the findings, the department is expected to issue notices to the company and seek supporting documents and explanations.

Preliminary Findings Also Indicated Hawala Transactions
Sources familiar with the investigation said officials found documents indicating unaccounted financial transactions, alleged cash movement through hawala channels, and purchases reportedly routed through companies whose existence could not be verified. Investigators are also examining whether these entities were used to reduce tax liability or conceal financial irregularities. The department is expected to verify these findings through further examination before drawing final conclusions.

Forensic Review to Determine Further Action
According to sources, the company could not provide a satisfactory explanation during the survey for nearly Rs. 200 crore shown as cash expenditure. Digital evidence has also reportedly revealed chats linked to suspected hawala transactions involving around Rs. 50 crore. The Income Tax Department will now compare the seized material with bank records, income tax returns and other financial data. After reviewing the company’s response to the notices, authorities will decide whether the matter will remain confined to tax assessment or lead to further proceedings under the Income Tax Act.
